Commemoration of the Day Giwa Barrack was Attacked (14th March 2014) by Boko Haram on 14 March 2022
One hundred 100 victims and victims’ relations (Male 31, Female 69) joined Allamin Foundation to commemorate the 2022 Day of Giwa Barracks Attack on March 14 organized by the Foundation annually to remember the day Boko Haram attacked Giwa Barracks leading to the death and arrest of scores of persons. Participants were members of Allamin Foundation’s Jire Dole networks of victims and survivors, Women Faith-Based Organizations, members of ALFOPED’s Board of Trustee, Staff, Community Mobilisers, and Volunteers. The participants, in a loud unanimous voice demanded information on missing persons arbitrarily arrested and detained for over 8 years and counting. They tasked the government and the Nigerian military, in particular, to charge to court all Boko Haram suspects in detention, and set free the innocent ones amongst them. In addition, the commemorators demanded accountability from the government and the Nigeria soldiers to make known information about suspected victims of arbitrary arrest and detention to enable their relations know whether their loved ones are alive or dead.
