Training for Network Members of Jire Dole on Tailoring

From 5th to 25thSeptember 2022, twenty (20) beneficiaries gained livelihood skills in tailoring organized by Allamin Foundation. The 4 weeks intensive training which started from 8:00am to 4:00pm daily aimed at enhancing the quality of life of  the women and teenage girls through enhanced skills and knowledge in vocational skills acquisition such as tailoring (sewing) which can help them take away the boredom, earn some income and become economically self-sufficient and independent.

During the training, the beneficiaries learned the basic skills of tailoring and dress making, such as hand-sewing, choosing materials, operating a sewing machine, how to make clothes that fit, different tailoring techniques and so on. The very enthusiastic trainees who are determined to learn a skill in tailoring which one of the beneficiaries said was a “life-long dream” recorded early turn-up and active participation described by the facilitator as “simply fascinating and determined trainees.” At the end of the training, the beneficiaries sew 5 different styles of women dresses including straight and flair gowns, 3-pieces skirts and blouses amongst others.
